Director of Supply Chain | Manufacturing Description
Our client in the industrial equipment manufacturing industry is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to add to their team in Buffalo, NY. In this newly created leadership role, you will develop and execute supply chain strategies to support significant company growth, overseeing procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics. A key focus will be strengthening procurement operations, improving inventory accuracy, building scalable processes, and overseeing logistics partner strategy. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing supply chain experience with a proven track record of leading teams, optimizing procurement functions, and driving operational improvements. Director of Supply Chain | Manufacturing Responsibilities
• Develop and execute supply chain strategies to support business growth
• Oversee procurement, inventory control, warehousing, material handling, and logistics
• Assess, develop, and strengthen supply chain teams to improve performance and accountability
• Lead procurement initiatives to optimize sourcing, supplier relationships, costs, & lead times
• Establish scalable supply chain processes, workflows, performance metrics, and controls
• Improve inventory accuracy through effective tracking, cycle counting, and reconciliations
• Direct warehouse and material handling operations to optimize efficiency and material flow
• Oversee third-party logistics partner to ensure service quality and delivery performance
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align material availability with manufacturing schedules
• Partner with Finance on supply chain budgets, inventory valuation, and cost management
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements
• Support facility expansion and long-term supply chain planning to accommodate growth
Director of Supply Chain | Manufacturing Qualifications
• 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including recent manufacturing, is required
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing multiple supply chain functions is required
• Hands-on experience enhancing procurement and logistics performance is required
• Strong understanding of inventory management, cycle counting, and reconciliation is required
