Production Manager Description
Our client, a global manufacturer of precision measurement technology, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead its manufacturing operation in Windsor, CT. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on improving day-to-day production while building a more efficient and scalable operation. You'll lead the production team, manage scheduling and capacity, improve processes and throughput, establish meaningful KPIs, and partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Purchasing. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader and change agent who understands the broader manufacturing operation and can balance today's production needs with future growth, including potential expansion into additional manufacturing capabilities.
Production Manager Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and production employees
• Manage production schedules, priorities, capacity, labor, and resources
• Ensure safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and on-time delivery goals are met
• Identify bottlenecks and improve production flow, throughput, and efficiency
• Establish and monitor key production KPIs
• Implement Lean, standard work, visual management, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop repeatable processes, procedures, and work instructions
• Identify opportunities for improved tooling, fixtures, automation, and material flow
Production Manager Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher required
• 7+ years of production operations experience, including progressive leadership, required
• Leadership experience in technical or precision manufacturing required
• Strong production planning, scheduling, inventory, and quality experience required
• Lean manufacturing/process improvement experience required
• ERP/MRP experience required
