Controls Design Engineer (Electrical Control Panel Design Exp. Req.) Description

Our client in the industrial automation industry is looking for a Controls Design Engineer to add to their team in High Point, NC. In this role, you will design electrical control panels and develop electrical/pneumatic schematics for automated solutions for a diverse customer base. The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing electrical control panels, programming and troubleshooting PLCs, and supporting industrial equipment installations and startups. To be successful, you must have strong knowledge of industrial sensors, controls, and analog/digital signals, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams. Controls Design Engineer (Electrical Control Panel Design Exp. Req.) Responsibilities

•    Design electrical control panels, schematics, layouts, and BOMs for custom automation systems
•    Analyze customer requirements, specifications, and schematics for automation systems
•    Simultaneously support multiple projects from design through installation and commissioning
•    Program and troubleshoot PLC-based industrial control systems
•    Develop technical concepts and layouts to support customer solutions and quoting
•    Support shop technicians with equipment assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting
•    Support customer-site equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and training
•    Troubleshoot control circuits, relays, I/O modules, sensors, and low-voltage components
•    Review customer requirements and participate in project design reviews
•    Collaborate with customers, sales, manufacturing, and field service teams
•    Provide post-sale support for troubleshooting custom equipment and products
•    Maintain engineering documentation, project timelines, and post-project reporting
•    Evaluate new automation technologies and equipment design improvements

Controls Design Engineer (Electrical Control Panel Design Exp. Req.) Qualifications

•    5+ years of controls engineering, system integration, or industrial automation required
•    Experience designing electrical control panels is required, pneumatic design preferred
•    Hands-on experience working with low-voltage electrical systems is required
•    Experience with PLC and/or HMI programming and troubleshooting is required
•    Experience supporting industrial equipment installation, startup, and testing is required
•    Experience using CAD software to create or modify electrical schematics is required
