[REMOTE] Junior Structural Engineer Description
If you're an entry-level engineer looking for an opportunity to build specialized structural expertise, this could be a great place to start. Our client is a manufacturer of custom structural building systems and is expanding its engineering capabilities with a new in-house engineering position. Historically, the company has partnered with outside engineering firms for structural analysis and design. This position will become the company's internal engineering resource, working closely with drafting and manufacturing to support the design and development of custom structural building systems.
The company is also developing standardized engineering calculators and processes to support structural analysis of its products. You'll use these tools to evaluate loads, materials, connections, and structural performance while applying sound engineering judgment to identify potential issues and improve designs. This is a development-focused role, so you don't need years of experience to be successful. If you're specifically looking for a traditional PE-track position where you'll work directly under a licensed PE and progress toward stamping projects yourself, this may not be the right fit. This role is better suited for someone interested in building their technical expertise and becoming the company's go-to internal engineering resource.
[REMOTE] Junior Structural Engineer Responsibilities
• Prepare structural layouts and detailed drawings for custom structural support systems
• Produce structural calculations and assist with engineering analysis for custom projects
• Develop connection details for welded, bolted, and anchored structural assemblies
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Create and revise fabrication and shop drawings using 3D CAD software
• Review fabrication drawings for accuracy and constructability
• Prepare supporting engineering documentation for licensed review
• Assist with delegated engineering documents and outside engineering submittals
• Support product improvements, prototype development, and design standardization

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required
• Exposure to 3D CAD and structural analysis software through coursework, internships, co-ops, or professional experience
